091109 - Another Chipper

My workout schedule kinda took a hit due to a job change and the stress and chaos that can go along with that but today I made CFR for Another Chipper.

Took me 29:49 or there abouts full 7 minutes slower than my last time. Sigh ... I knew I had some work to do.

091130 - Max Cleans and some Rowing

Went Tuesday (yesterday) to CFR instead of today. Did this because I plan to return to Krav tonight and didn't want to double up 2 nasty workouts on the same day. However, I'm not feeling 100% and may have to skip Krav with the H1N1 scare running rampant. I'll play it by ear as the day progresses.

Anyway yesterday we did Max Cleans reps 3-3-3-1-1-1 with a 500m row for time as a bonus. Now in the Crossfit world when you see the word Clean with out Power in front of it that typically means a full squat clean and that is exactly what was required. Yes squats again. Now you might be asking yourself, "Darcy you have publicly stated you hated squats and suck at them, why the hell do you keep going to Crossfit where 9 times out of 10 the workout involves some form of squat and why the hell do you associate with a bunch of Squat Happy, Mark Rippetoe quoting crossfitters?" :)

Well if I find something easy or excel at something I tend to get bored with it: thank god I excel at pretty much nothing :). Thus I like the challenge of Crossfit and its plethora of squat filled workouts. I can't argue with the benefits of the squat and know without the peer pressure of Crossfit I'd probably never do the damn things.

Anyway I kept it reasonably light so I could focus on technique:

95lb X 3, 115lb X 3, 135lb X 3, 145lb X 1, 155lb X 1, 165lb X 1

the last one felt sloppy so I dropped it back down to 135lb for 3 extra repts so I could reaffirm the movement.

Jumped on the rower and did my 500m in 1:40

Okay It's Fran Today

I hate Fran and am not fond of the fact that it's the WOD that's become almost an official metric on your level of fitness at Crossfit. Figures it would involve thrusters an evil squat in disguise lol.

However, despite this I want to officially publish that if I miss my lunch hour WOD it's not an attempt to avoid Fran but a reflection of the fact that today is my last day in my current job and I predict it to be nutty.

Just some defense in advance due to my vow in this post. lol

Phew just looked and Fran was yesterday not today but sadly I still may not make todays WOD. :(
