Today was the 2nd day of following the Zone Diet as strictly as possible and I decided I would never get use to those silly blocks if I didn't quit checking all my macro-nutrient ratios via fitday. Therefore, armed with a copy of Crossfit Journal Issue 21 I made all my meals and snacks using the block tables provided.
I decided that I'm a medium sized male which means I am suppose to eat 3, 5 block means and 2, 1 block snacks. For those of you unfamiliar with the Zone a 5 block meal means it consists of 5 blocks of protien, 5 blocks of carbs, and 5 blocks of fat. Let me tell you depending on your food choices that can translate into a lot of food. For example, one block of carbs is 4 cups of spinach but sadly only a quarter cup of pasta. Now I like my spinach salad but 4 cups of spinach is a lot of spinach. Anyway I found breakfast and lunch difficult to put together but dinner wasn't that bad and I slapped together my lunch for tomorrow pretty quick. If I can stick with it for a couple weeks it might actually become tolerable.

We just pulled off that article ourselves, with hopes of following it! Uhmm..not so good today! Also I wasnt sure what "category" I fit in? Med\Lrg? Or muscular? Personally I think the categories are pretty vague? I wasnt sure if activity level would have anything to do with it?
Yeah they are vague. If you go to the main zone diet site and sign up for free you can access a little calculator that tries to figure it using some measurments and your activity level. I just picked medium male because I can't imagine eating a lot more than that in a day. :)
Thanks..I will take a gander at the site and see if I can narrow it down.
